In Codenames the idea is to communicate a connection between certain cards in the game area without giving away the opponents cards and most of all avoiding the deadly assassin!
Codenames is a fun party game that whilst very simple to learn, can really get the brain working hard!
2-8 players, best with 6+
Each round lasts about 15 minutes. Game can last as long as you want!
Who plays the game?
The game is best suited to those with a creative thought process, or someone who knows their teammates really well.
25 cards are laid out on the table in front of you, each with a unique word on them. You and your spymaster opponent have a special card, which only the two of you can see. The aim of the game is to have your teammates correctly identify the agents (cards) that are in your colour. The quickest way to do that is to give them a one-word clue which connects multiple agents, without inadvertently have them guessing your opponent’s colour or the assassin. Watch out for the innocent bystanders too!
